Before you create content (i.e., articles, webinars, SlideShares, etc.), you must first have a very clear understanding of your target audience. These are the people you would most benefit from influencing. These are your prospects; your (hopefully) future customers.

The most actionable tip I can offer to any Internet marketer – young or old, amateur or professional – is to create content that answers questions and solves problems. In other words, create content that provides your target audience with an incredible amount of value. And, most importantly, give it away for free.

That’s right. Giving away advice is a proven way to stay top-of-mind.

So, first and foremost, focus on creating entertaining, well-crafted pieces that answer important questions and solve problems. The social links and search engine rankings that increase your bottom line will ultimately follow.
